Energy performance now shapes both financing and approvals. CMHC MLI Select points, municipal green standards and the 2024 Ontario Building Code all depend on how well your mechanical and electrical systems perform. Our team includes a LEED AP and a Certified Energy Manager. We do the energy modelling in-house, design the systems to hit your target, and keep the model and the drawings in step, so what gets built is what was modelled.

Can your design help us qualify for CMHC MLI Select energy points?
Mechanical and electrical choices drive most of a building’s modelled energy performance. Our Certified Energy Manager models the building in-house and can provide the energy attestation CMHC requires, while our engineers design to the percentage improvement your points tier needs. Note that from September 30, 2026, CMHC measures new construction against the 2020 NECB / NBC baselines.
Which codes and standards do you design to?
We design to the Ontario Building Code (including SB-12 and SB-10), the National Building Code of Canada (NBC), the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB), ASHRAE 90.1 and 62.1, and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. We also meet municipal standards such as Ottawa’s High Performance Development Standard and the Toronto Green Standard where they apply.
