“Over a three year time span I had the opportunity of working with Miriton Ltd. on multiple facility projects for our Point of Care Division located in Ottawa.  Renovation and new construction work was completed at our manufacturing/office complex and projects ranged from 1,200 sf labs to 11,000 sf manufacturing cleanrooms with controlled environments, specialized equipment, and redundant back-up systems.  Miriton provided full service engineering services for mechanical (HVAC and piping), electrical and controls.  They also managed architectural and structural engineering consultants who provided services tailored to meet our facility requirements and needs.

From the beginning, with our initial project in 2005, Miriton’s staff integrated effectively with Abbott’s facility and technical personnel and conveyed business in a professional and personable manner. They provided services from initial feasibility through programming and final design/construction including commissioning services for some projects. Miriton services met our aggressive timelines and they promptly responded to requested changes. In summary I was very pleased with their performance and would not hesitate in recommending their services.

“Miriton Ltd was hired by SNC-Lavalin O&M for the design and engineering to replace the domestic hot water generating system at 555 Booth Street in Ottawa.  The project consisted of removing the legacy storage type hot water tanks and providing new, steam operated, hot water tanks with system redundancy.  One of the project’s main requirements was that there were to be no disruptions to the domestic hot water service during the construction period.

Miriton developed innovative solutions that included three units, with two operating at a time and one unit as standby.  Utilizing this partial redundancy system satisfied the requirement for system redundancy, but was also able to provide better load matching for the domestic hot water demand in the building.  Miriton also utilized instantaneous hot water heaters to provide on demand domestic hot water supply for the building with no energy wasted from stored hot water.  The domestic hot water return pumps were downsized by nearly 80%, thus reducing the amount of domestic water heated unnecessarily for circulation purposes only.

The design supplied by Miriton was concise, accurate and efficient and was delivered on time and on budget.  The project was implemented without issue or disruption and exceeded expectations.  The level of service provided was superior and the company was present at each stage throughout the construction and commissioning process for support.

We have worked with Miriton in the past and would not hesitate to work with them again in the future.”

“Dear Phil,

I’d like to take a moment to formally thank you for the incredible job that you and your staff performed for me as electrical and mechanical engineers on my project at 32 Colonnade Road, Ottawa, ON. Also, on behalf of the very satisfied client CUPE 4000.

As you know, the building housing CUPE 4000 was to be demolished and we had 3 weeks to refit an 8000 sq.ft. office space. If not for the quick actions of you and your staff to produce mechanical and electrical drawings in one week, having no building plans what so ever, the project schedule would not have been met. You helped make the impossible possible. For this CUPE 4000 and I are eternally grateful.

I have always held your firm’s work skills and ethic in high regard and it has once again been a pleasure to work with you.

Of special note is the contribution of your staff being on site within one hour of my phone call and starting work on the project immediately.

To your whole team Phil, a big thank you and I look forward to our continued working relationship. “

Best Regards,

Mike Mcgrath Construction Manager Lowrey Construction
